A new beta for UCalc Fast Math Parser was released. The key new item is support for VB.NET. Inside the main zip, you will find another zip file named VBNet.Zip. It has the VB.NET include files, as well as a fully functional demo. For the most part you can use it just like in VB 6.0. There are some exceptions though. Instead of attaching a variable with VarPtr, you must use a Pinned variable address. And function callbacks must use the technique you’ll find in the demo in order to secure non-moveable function addresses. There are still some minor inconveniences to be worked out (for instance ucItem is not available under VB.NET for now). Examples for VB, Delphi, and C++ are now supplied for all topics, and have been tested to make sure they work (the few that don’t work yet should have a note). A great percentage of the help file is now completed. A lot of work has gone into tightening up the DLL detail by detail to make sure everything actually works as documented. As a result this beta is more stable than the previous one. But there is still work left. Some of the issues of the previous beta mentioned at www.ucalc.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000010.html still apply; particularly regarding Speed and Threads. As for the release date, it is still too early to make an accurate prediction. But things are marching towards a conclusion. It’s quite possible that there may be one more beta, followed by the final beta and then a waiting period followed by the official release. This is just a general plan, but things may turn out differently. Do not make any concrete plans based on these estimates. Disclaimers ------------------ IP: Logged |
